Electricity: 210.8 lbs CO2

Water: 258 Gallons H2O

Heating Oil:Je ne sais pas…nobody in my house has a clue soo…-_-

Vehicle Travel: N/A (I dont drive or get driven-_-)

Rail:I don’t take the train

Notes
Viva la Vida<3

Consumption:

Water: 10 min shower, washed my face, brushed my teeth,  I didn’t drink any water

Food: pancakes & popcorn

Electricity: lights (bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen)

Gasoline (fossil fuels): none except the heat in my house (which I can’t control)

$$Money$$ - What did you spend money on today? $1.50 (cookies & juice)

Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?

List the areas of your daily routine that you made an effort to limit your usage of certain substances.

Did you reduce your water usage?

10 minute shower b/c I’m cool like that=]

Electricity: Once again I did not use my flat iron or curling iron…I decided to be a bum today

Food consumption: I didn’t eat a lot today and food consumption is never really a problem for me anyways because I barely eat.

Technology: I used my comp this morning and when I left I shut it down In stead of leaving it on as usual and now I am back on it. That’s really the only thing I used besides my phone today.

Sustainability

Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term? Can you reduce your consumption permanently?  Why or why not?

Cutting back on technology was really helpful but I can’t envision in the long term because …actually never mind I could because I’m barely home anyway so I’m generally not using it that much. On reducing my consumption permanently that would be near impossible seeing that in everyday life you HAVE to use technology.

What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers?  Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way?  Will you adjust your own actions as a result of their post?

I found it great that everybody is working on cutting back their showers times to save water and limiting how long they use technology.

Notes
Dead…tired

1. Consumption

Water - 10 minute shower today, sink, toilet, I actually only drank one cup of water

Food – 2 cookies, Burrito from Chipotle, half a pastilito, and 2 brownies.

Electricity – I had the light in my room on to get ready and the bathroom for my shower. I didn’t use my flat iron or curling iron.

Gasoline – I took the bus to school and got a ride home

$$money$$ - My burrito from Chipotle

2. Reduction

I have cut back on my electricity and technology usage to my own surprise. I still take 10 minutes showers which actually are very effective in giving me more time. So I’m using less water…well at least less than everyone else in the house.

3. Sustainability

I will definitely stick with the 10 minute shower and my low technology/ electricity usage. I can envision in the long run the low usage I am at right now because it is adjusted to my liking where I can survive but as for permanently I don’t think so because that just seems really difficult and I slip back into bad habits easily.

4. Following

I noticed a lot of people are cutting back their electricity and technology usage which makes me proud because that’s very difficult…especially as a teenager.

Day 3: Maybe I should see my doctor about my ankle…I sprained it a month ago and it still kills

1.  Consumption - What did you consume today?

Please make a list for your usage of the following substances

Water: 15 min shower…(sorry, I went over 10 mins.)

Food: I had chicken and fries for breakfast (very healthy-__-). For lunch I had two cookies…and I ate two more cookies in math class.

Electricity: I’m on the computer at NEU. I curled my hair this morning.

Gasoline (fossil fuels): I took the bus to school

$$Money$$ - What did you spend money on today? I spent $2 on breakfast & found the cookies in the storage. =]

2. Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?

I scaled back my technology use because I didn’t listen to music today and I also didn’t use my computer…might be hard to believe but I haven’t even gone on my other tumblr since we started this nor have I gone on my FB today. I’m also going to walk home after I leave NEU.

3.  Sustainability - Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term?  Can you reduce your consumption permanently?  Why or why not? Please be specific, and provide examples.

I can definitely cut back on my social networking because I actually surprisingly am not tempted to go on…that’s weird. I seem to feel free to do other stuff now…like watch nature (lol)I can not however reduce my consumption permanently because social networking is my  way of staying in contact with people and there are some places that would take wayyy too long to walk to. It takes me about 45 mins to an hour to walk home from the school/NEU (I do it whenever it is nice out). Therefore walking all over Boston is not going to happen when it hits below 60 degrees.

4. I noticed that another person has cut back in their consumption by walking and spending less money.

Notes
Day 2: Starving like Marvin-_-…as usual

Consumption:

Water: 10 min shower, washed my face, brushed my teeth

Food: 2 cookies

Electricity: Curling iron, flat iron, lights

Gasoline (fossil fuels): I took the bus to and from school.

$$Money$$ - What did you spend money on today? Absolutely nothing

Reduction - In what areas of your current lifestyle did you try to scale back the use of specific resources?

List the areas of your daily routine that you made an effort to limit your usage of certain substances.

Did you reduce your water usage?

Yes, 10 min shower going to take another before bed

Electricity: I didn’t make breakfast so I didn’t use anything in the kitchen

Food consumption: All I had today was 2 cookies…I’m starving

Technology: I used pretty much the same amount use everyday because I played music while getting ready for school and had the comp on.

Sustainability

Are there any changes that you made to your daily routine that you could envision making for the long term? Can you reduce your consumption permanently?  Why or why not?

Not really…I generally buy breakfast just about every morning which is 2-3 dollars and for lunch yogurt & 2 cookies. After school I usually go to the Boloco, Chipotle, or Panera bread. So I spend at most 8-10 dollars a day. But lately I’ve been spending less anyways. It varies but I can’t do it in the long term because I was soooo tempted to buy stuff today. As for permanent reduction, I just might have a mental breakdown. You can’t spend your money on food…its not free & this is a Capitalist nation…we live off money.

What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers?  Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way?  Will you adjust your own actions as a result of their post?

I noticed people are taking shorter showers, so that is less water consumption and there was one where the person said they don’t drink water. I’m appalled…everything you drink has water in it. It’s essential; even if you’re just drinking flavored water…I’m just being politically correct

Day 1

I forgot to mention, for gas I rode with my family to and from church. Then I walked to McDonalds before church started and happened to see my aunt there who gave me a ride back.
